Ampiclox is indicated for the immediate treatment of severe bacterial infections before infecting organism is identified, and for mixed staphylococcal and Gram-negative infections

Ampiclox Neonatal Suspension and Injection are indicated for the prophylaxis or treatment of bacterial infections in premature babies or neonates, particularly: suspected or confirmed infections; babies born of mothers with infected liquor or whose membranes ruptured more than 48 hours before delivery; babies requiring certain surgical procedures carrying risk of infection such as exchange transfusions; babies born with respiratory distress necessitating endotracheal procedures, when subsequent infection is a possible hazard; babies following difficult delivery, when inhalation of much liquor, mucus or meconium has occurred.
